This class in Metal Clay techniques is designed for both beginning students and those seeking to refresh skills and learn new ones. The initial project will be a simple silver two sided project, chosen to teach thickness, roll out, texture, appliqué, and carving techniques. It will be fired with a butane torch. Beyond the basic skills required for this project, more advanced techniques, will be taught, including: stone setting, bail design and structure, drying, firing with torch and kiln, and final finishing and polishing, ring sizing and construction, repairing green ware and fired pieces. During the class students will create pendants, earrings and rings.
