Metal Clay 1: The Basics

This class is designed for both beginning students and those seeking to refresh skills and learn new ones. The initial project will be a simple silver two-sided project, chosen to teach thickness, roll out, texture, appliqué, and carving techniques. Beyond the basic skills required for this project, more advanced techniques, will be taught, including: sculptural design and construction, basic stone setting, bail design and structure, drying, firing with torch and kiln, final finishing and polishing, repairing green ware and fired pieces. During this in-depth orientation to Metal Clay students will create three pendants.
